TEKKō™ finished steel is a naturally finished, corrosion-resistant coated steel designed for architectural cladding applications. The surface is not a paint system; it is formed through a chemical process that creates a permanent covalent bond at the surface of the metal, resulting in a soft matte appearance that develops subtle variation over time. Available in five finishes — Kuro (Black), Mokutan (Charcoal), Ao (Grey), Hai’iro (Blue Grey), and Gin’iro (Silver) — the material is supplied in gauges ranging from 16 to 24, offering flexibility across facade systems.
TEKKō™ is manufactured using G115 coated steel comprising a zinc-aluminium-magnesium alloy (91 percent zinc, 6 percent aluminium, and 3 percent magnesium), forming a two-layer protective barrier with corrosion resistance exceeding that of conventional galvanised steel. The base material is ZAM® corrosion-resistant coated steel by Wheeling-Nippon Steel, with final assembly in Follansbee, West Virginia, USA. The product is 100 percent recyclable at end of life and holds a Declare label verified by the International Living Future Institute, confirming 100 percent ingredient disclosure at 100 ppm and compliance with the Living Building Challenge Red List requirements.
