“Treasure Collection” is a continuous design project that uses natural and organic materials sourced from Britain wherever possible. It is an exploration of employing different forms of traditional arts and crafts to create contemporary and timeless objects.
Sofa and stool/ low table Tran
“Tran” consists of a sofa and a stool/ low table, which was born out of the desire to create an honest, hand crafted, beautiful, high quality and eco-friendly sofa, produced from British made natural and organic materials: A rustic and environmentally friendly 21st century furniture. It is an exploration of the ancient craft of hand weaving by mixing various natural and organic materials to create a rough textured and durable seat and back surface. Materials used include: Precious British vegetable tanned saddle leather (hand cut leather straps), natural flax twine (hand knotted chains), bespoke braided organic jute cord, twisted eco paper cord and beautifully soft organic hand spun Shetland wool yarn. All the weaving materials are produced by British traditional manufacturers, most of them trading for more than 120 years. The chunky sofa frame is made from FSC certified British oak, built with no screws, joints bonded with eco glue and finished with natural oils. We used the centuries-old technique of making wood threads by hand to fix the cylindrical wood turned modernistic legs onto the frame. This allows for an easy disassembling when space should be an issue when moving home.

Natural and organic seat mattress:
The seat mattress is hand crafted and hand tufted (no glues used), using only the finest natural and organic materials like coconut fibre mixed with natural latex, luxurious soft 100%wool, British organic wool felt, covered in organic cotton canvas and finished with a 100% British organic wool fabric cover and finest British handmade horn buttons. The seat mattress is naturally fire retardant, without the use of any chemicals and fire retardant additives: All natural and biodegradable.
