This house was designed in 1960 by William Rupp, a fellow Sarasota School of Architecture leader alongside Tim Seibert, and over the years it underwent a series of insensitive renovations and additions. In late 2004 a renovation began and was completed in 2006.  The intent of this extensive renovation was to celebrate the parti of horizontal and vertical planes that defined the original house. The remaining original spaces (living room, loft, study, hallway, entry courtyard, & carport) were reestablished.

The house was initially designed to embrace prevailing breezes, allow abundant natural light, and provide privacy using garden walls and strategically placed windows. These original concepts were maintained throughout the renovation. Inconsistent additions were removed, finishes were restored or replaced with like materials. The 1960s ‘low-tech’ systems have been supplemented with high efficiency air conditioning units, a gas tankless hot water heater, and either impact-resistant glass or impact panels for severe storm protection.
