When it comes to interior decoration, you don’t always need to go after an extraordinary theme or eye-catching items to make your home a “wow” space. It will naturally become an appealing and worry-free place if you furnish it with heart, and a good eye—just like the young couple of this 397-square-foot apartment in Star Street, Wan Chai.

“We want to spend our time in a simple but cozy space filled with natural lighting and an airy atmosphere. Also, we would like to have an inviting environment for our friends who often come here to create lovely memories with us,” said the couple. To meet the expectations, LittleMORE took on the challenge to infuse this abode with a modern boho style, focusing on easiness and enjoyment.

The inside of this one-room apartment was dark given that the windows in the living-cum-dining room are relatively small. No doubt all the non-structural walls were torn down to give way to the natural light to shine through the large windows in the original bedroom. Neutral colours of white and grey as well as oak wood furniture and engineered floor now dominate the sun-lit living area to complementary the overall gentle mood of the home.

A full-height round corner oak cabinet finished with vertical stripes catches one’s eyes upon entering the home. It provides ample storage for shoes and other stuff to help keep the space tidy. Opposite to this stylish furniture is the open kitchen with white cabinets and marble-like white wall tiles. In contrast, the sink, tap, range hood, pendants and appliances are in striking black. This aesthetically-designed open kitchen also serves as a conversation area where the couple can share their joys and sorrows with each other day and night. It is also a beloved chit-chat corner among their friends.

Additionally, the TV wall painted in dual tone, a textured beige rug and linen curtain in the living room as well as the navy-blue accent wall and fluted glass sliding door of the bedroom add subtle fun and visual interest to this young and lively abode. All these details correspond to the boho style which features clean and neat design, light colour tone and home decoration in a casual way.

The couple demonstrates a good sense of taste and style in selecting artworks, furniture and decorative ornaments. This probably makes a huge difference as they integrate their artful sense of aesthetics, personal preferences and love in the home, filling the space with warmth, peace and cheerfulness.
In the end, what matters most is to relax and enjoy life!
