ADU Carpenteria

Obreval as Architects

Introducing our latest innovative ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) project, where contemporary design meets functionality and tradition in a harmonious blend. Nestled within a circular patio, this unique living space offers a remarkable integration of outdoor and indoor living, creating a haven of tranquility and style. The key feature of this ADU is the semicircular cutout that envelops the dwelling, inviting an abundance of natural light into every corner. The design revolves around maximizing the outdoor space on a small corner backyard. Conceived as a glass cutout, the patio allows sunlight to flood the living spaces, providing an airy and spacious atmosphere.

The charm of this ADU extends to its interior, where the warmth of exposed wood beams captures a rustic yet modern aesthetic. The wood elements not only contribute to the overall design ethos but also serve as a reminder of the natural world that surrounds this dwelling. The exposed beams add character and depth, creating a cozy and inviting environment. At the heart of the circular patio lies a focal point that enhances both aesthetics and functionality—the firepit. This central feature serves as a gathering point, providing a cozy spot for residents and guests to unwind, socialize, and enjoy the outdoors. As the sun sets, the firepit becomes a mesmerizing source of warmth and light, casting a comforting glow throughout the patio. The intelligent layout of the ADU incorporates thoughtful spaces for living, dining, and relaxation, all seamlessly connected by the radiant energy flowing in from the patio. The kitchen, adorned with modern amenities, becomes a culinary haven, and the bedroom is designed to capture the tranquility of silence and shadow.

In addition to its aesthetic appeal, this ADU is crafted with sustainability in mind. Energy-efficient features, eco-friendly materials, and a design that promotes natural ventilation and lighting contribute to a dwelling that is as responsible as it is beautiful. Our circular patio ADU project is a testament to the marriage of design and practicality. It redefines the concept of ADU by creating a unique space that blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating an environment where light, nature, and thoughtful design converge to offer a truly unique and harmonious living experience. Beauty does not have a size.
