OSO Architecture as Architects

The project consists of the retail store architectural design and interior design project services for the Bursa-based company Afeks, which sells building materials and home products. The project has a total area of 6.000 m2 with 3 stores and one office floor.

Within the scope of the project, both the facade and all interior designs of the building were completed. A design language inspired by a combination of ‘showroom’, ‘store’, and ‘construction market’ notions has been adopted on the store floors. Store floors, with a wide range of products including white goods, kitchenware, floor coverings, sanitary ware, doors, decoration products, lighting, accessories, and hardware, offer sales services in a total of 30 different product categories. This wide range of products and their unique needs for display have been the most important data that determined the concept of the store design. To that end, specific areas displaying each of the main categories have been created on all store floors and their individuality and difference were emphasized through the architectural design. This solution made it easier for customers to be directed to the products they need, and created significant advantages in introducing the richness and the range of the products to customers and solving the categories’ unique needs of display.

The building, which consists of a total of 5 floors, contains the parking lot and service areas on the lowest floor, the management offices on the last floor of the building, and the store sales area on the floors in between. Different user experiences are created by supporting the interior store floors with side functions such as children's playground, cafe, and customer meeting areas.

With the added facilities such as the children’s playground, the café, and customer meeting areas, the store floors have been made multifunctional and are guaranteed to create a different user experience. Consequently, the brand's memorability and the time spent in the store were increased, creating a cross-selling feature and an unmatched architectural store design.
