The project brief was to design a dental clinic that moved away from the conventional clinical atmosphere, creating instead a calm, welcoming environment that enhances the patient experience. The intention was to reinterpret the concept of a healthcare space, transforming it into a place that feels closer to a domestic or hospitality setting than a traditional clinic.
One of the main challenges was balancing this warm, non-clinical identity with the strict functional and technical requirements of a dental facility. Hygiene, durability, and efficiency had to be fully integrated without compromising the overall aesthetic or the sensory experience of the space.
The design is defined by the use of natural materials and a palette of neutral tones, which contribute to a sense of calm and comfort. Curved lines play a key role throughout the project, softening the spatial transitions and creating a fluid, continuous circulation. These gentle geometries help to reduce visual stress and reinforce a feeling of lightness, making the journey through the clinic more intuitive and pleasant.
Lighting was carefully considered as a fundamental design tool. In the common areas, indirect lighting creates a soft and relaxing atmosphere, enhancing textures and volumes while avoiding harsh contrasts. In contrast, treatment rooms incorporate precise, functional lighting to meet clinical needs, ensuring optimal working conditions for professionals.
The result is a space that redefines the perception of a dental clinic—where design, comfort, and functionality coexist to create a more human and approachable environment.
