Apto 222: Project by Macro architects prioritizes the panoramic view in a São Paulo apartment

THE PROJECT SIGNED BY MACRO ARQUITETOS IN THE CENTER OF SÃO PAULO (BRAZIL) PRIORITIZES THE PANORAMIC VIEW OF THE CITY

Bringing the entire social area to the facade with a privileged view was the solution proposed by Macro Arquitetos, led by the brazilian architects Carlos Duarte and Juliana Nogueira, to create a project of the 222 Apartment, a minimalist and functional apartment on the iconic street Consolação, in the center of São Paulo (Brazil).

The first step to integrate the kitchen with the living room was to transform the four windows of the original project into three: one in the kitchen, a large double main window in the dining room and one for the TV area. The integration of the environments also facilitated ventilation and natural lighting.

The integrated kitchen can be isolated by a freijó wood panel. When this panel is open, the 8mm black counter discreetly separates the environments, serving as a support bench for the kitchen or intimate meals.

The warmth of natural woods used occasionally in the TV rack, dining table and kitchen panel contrasts with the sobriety of the gray tones present in the kitchen cabinets, on the floor and in the hall that determines the private area and hides the doors in the panel.

The entrance hall is a lower-ceilinged hallway, all in gray Formica, with recessed doors along it. With the function of distributing the spaces, on the left we have the social area (kitchen and living rooms), on the right the service area on the first door, on the second door the toilet and on the last door the access to the two suites. The lowered ceiling in the entrance hall, inside the gray box, holds the air conditioning with an outlet to the side grille without harming the right foot of the living area. The dividing panel of the hall and kitchen in boreal glass, passes light and creates movement in the space.

The master suite hides a small closet behind the mirror. On the headboard, Julia Rosolén's paintings contrast the shades of gray. As an option for indirect light, two directables complete the rest environment. The office bench in front of the window with acoustic ceiling provides a support space for home office.

For the bathrooms, the association of freijó wood with burnt cement is extended. The lighting design of the entire apartment focused on making the ceiling as clean as possible, using focal points and indirect lighting options through automation and dimmable lamps.
