Barbara Dundes ARQ + DESIGN as Architects

Owner/family profile (information provided in your office briefing at the time of project development).

They are a couple of Engineers, where they met, we took into consideration the burnt cement wall as one of the main points of the house. They love cooking so the project objective is to have a kitchen in the heart of the house, with various equipment and details.

What were the owner's requests and expectations for the project and how were they met?
A special kitchen to prepare different dishes, as one of the owners has a hobby of cooking, so he can enjoy the atmosphere with family and friends.

Is there a starting point that you consider to be the key to the project?
The kitchen was integrated so that it was truly the heart of the house.

What factors were analyzed when choosing covering materials? What materials stand out? Are there any ecological or technological materials that deserve to be detailed?
Wall finishing is Suvinil's Velvet effect.

Description of each environment (concept, materials used, etc.).
Bedroom -
At the entrance with a closet on each side, the background we have the master suite, we designed the bed and part of the upholstery, leaving the headboard in caramel leather with this tone in mind to warm up the spaces, we placed a panel behind and created the bedside tables with a green touch, to combine with the caramel and gray that are present in the project. The couple's bathroom was redone, the shower and toilet were relocated and the register was placed inside the niche, furniture in suspended metalwork, metals from Ducon and basin from Roca, cabinet with metal structures, and the mirror with a thin frame and lighting front.

Toilet – Metal shelves, and natural stone, showing the details well.

Living room – a sideboard was designed divides the two rooms, so that a composition could be created for the two environments, and on the dining table we placed the lid in cement, the foot was removed from an Estar Moveis table made of rebar, simulating steel folded, construction. To complete this project was the choice of the Zina chair from Zanini de Zanine, which shows this steel structure with a hint of wood, it as the protagonist with a touch of color, thinking of a very Industrial project characteristic with a point of color of caramel or this shade of Luna which is a turquoise to compose the project.

Kitchen – a great integration was made, so that it would be the heart of the house, the kitchen has a lot of equipment and they love to receive family and friends, a hood was custom-made to make it efficient, and embracing this hood we made a metalwork wire which is suspended, so that various pieces, pans and recipe books can be placed, also functioning as a support for these utensils, on the right side of the kitchen, a space dedicated to coffee was created, with many details and things that recall that moment.

Multiple doors, everything was wrapped from one panel to create a single unit. The finishing of the walls is Suvinil's Velvet effect, bringing the feeling of burnt cement, textures and nuances of a more industrial and modern project.
