The apartment belongs to architect Barbara Dundes and her husband Marcelo Gelschyn, who is a civil engineer.
Renovation, which lasted about eight months, with significant changes in the layout, as the complete integration of the kitchen to the living area, as well as the creation of an additional bathroom in the master suite.
In the living room, there is a shelf made by Mada Marcenaria, in the same off-white tone as the textured walls by Protécnica. Sculpture by Armarinhos Teixeira. On the left, an MP-97 armchair by Percival Lafer, in boucle fabric. The merino wool rug is from Oficina do Tapete.
The front door is made with lâmina de nogueira, the bench is by Mestre Leno from Ilha do Ferro, Alagoas, and the artwork is by Ascânio MMM. The wall fabric is from Quaker.
The choice of stainless steel brought a great contrast, mixing textures and modern aspects in the house.
In fluid spaces, the highlight goes to the armchair by Percival Lafer and the chairs by Jorge Zalszupin in the dining room. Barbara designed all the cabinetry in the apartment, applying fabric to the doors and designing some of the furniture pieces.
The coat rack features the Lacuna Roma hanger from Casa Roca. The travertine grigio marble bench is from Alicante, installed by Ranieri Mármores. In the background, the stretched canvas from Samlux Lighting catches the eye. Handles by Galo Ferragens and vertical stainless steel strips from Formica.
The stool is from Loja Teo, and the art work on the wall is by Janaina Mello Landini. The floor is porcelain from Portobello.
The utility corner features items from Dpot Objeto and Loja Teo. The blinds are from Hunter Douglas.
The living room has a leather sofa by Kalós, designed by Jayme Bernardo, from Salva, and a glass-topped table designed by Barbara Dundes. Attached to the pillar is the adjustable Duomo lamp by Jader Almeida. The TV unit has a fabric-covered front from Quaker.
The kitchen cabinets are made of oak, and the hood that complements the space is from Pulsar. The wall cladding and countertops are made of Neolith stone.
In the foreground, a 3 Rings coffee table, made of stainless steel, from Estúdio Alva, followed by the Licce rocking chair by Jader Almeida. In the large vase, there are jasmine-mango and guaimbé covering.
In the dining room, there is a Bank table by Jader Almeida and Del Rey chairs by Jorge Zalszupin, upholstered in special fabric. The 2065 pendant light is by Gino Sarfatti for Astep. Embedded in the pillar, the buffet floats in the space. The diamond-shaped artwork is by Hércules Barsotti. The ceiling is covered in tauari wood from Akafloor, with an irregular pattern. Curtains from Alamanda.
Designed by Barbara Dundes, the bathroom features an inset sink from Deca. The cabinetry, with walnut veneer, includes Pino handles from Fato Objetos, available at Boobam. The floor is covered with porcelain tiles from Portobello.
In the couple's bedroom, the bed was renovated and is upholstered in fabric from Quaker. On the wall in the background—above the walnut panel with Meia Lua sconces from Estúdio Orth—there is wallpaper from wallcovering and watercolors by Marlene Stamm. The architect designed the nightstands. The throw and cushions are from Codex Home. The floor is tauari wood from Akafloor.
