Rua 141 Arquitetura, the studio led by architect Mona Singal, is responsible for the renovation project of a 120m² apartment located in the Pinheiros neighborhood of São Paulo. The renovation was conceived a year before the keys were handed over, with extensive planning and attention to detail.

The studio chose to maintain the layout provided by the builder: three bedrooms—one of which is an office for home office days, a master suite, and a guest bedroom.

The owner—a young, single executive in the pharmaceutical industry—requested an industrial-style design with a more sophisticated touch. Therefore, the project was developed with a focus on material textures as the main protagonists.

The natural Tauari wood ceiling in the social areas reinforces the integration between the kitchen, dining, and living rooms. To complement the linearity of the ceiling, the architect incorporated the Skyline light fixture, which creates a luminous axis through the circulation space.

The sideboard, custom-designed for this project, combines the lightness of metal with the warmth of natural Tauari wood. It serves as a functional piece connecting all areas of the social space.

The flooring in this area is Terrazo by Donata, composed of various natural stones in a soft, straw-like tone.

The metalwork shelf, also designed by the studio, prioritizes the lightness of the metal sheets, with the backdrop being the natural texture of the wood.

One of the project's standout features is the stone countertop in the kitchen. The Nero marble slab from Michelangelo Mármores was selected with great care. The natural veining in reddish-white tones creates an almost cartographic effect. Measuring 2.80m without joints, the island stone becomes a work of art within the social area.

The client preferred to keep the terrace separate from the living room for acoustic isolation. However, even with the separation of the window frames, the architect decided to bring the same flooring from the interior space to create an industrial style atmosphere while maintaining the feel of an outdoor area. The morning sun warms and illuminates the space, the vegetation with various types of foliage brings life, and the brick wall creates a rustic, cozy ambiance. Additionally, through the metal shelves, there is a connection with the living room’s bookshelf.

The artwork by José Bechara reflects the strength of contemporary Brazilian art. The objects and furniture by Brazilian designers engage with the spaces, adding pops of color and personality.

In the powder room, the Guatemala Green marble countertop stands out in a play of reflections. The Sino light fixture by Estudio Orth creates a focal light, directing its beam toward the Tauari wood ceiling. The Galho coat rack by Wentz acts as a sculpture in metal, with an elegant design supported by the Tauari wood panel.

For the intimate areas, the Tauari wood flooring arranged in a herringbone pattern warms these spaces.

In the master suite, the natural Tauari wood slatted panel and the headboard made of natural leather, accompanied by custom wood bedside tables, create a cozy atmosphere. The Matê light fixtures by Adriana Yazbek emphasize the delicacy of the artisanal process, with each paper-mâché piece unique, offering a sense of calm to the room.

The linen bedding from Casa Tropico, the delicate pillows from Codex Home, and the natural wool throw from Pia Laus complete the composition.

For the guest room, the soft touch of the Baô light fixture by Adriana Yazbek, made of paper-mâché, complements the military green linen bedding from Casa Tropico, the handmade knitted throw and pillows from Srta Galante, and the caramel-colored leather headboard, designed in a tufted pattern.

The pop of color comes from the delicate line of the painting by Isabella Despujols, which stands out on the burnt-cement wall.

In the bathrooms, the studio incorporated the Cau tile from Donata, made of natural stones in a gray tone, contrasting with the natural Tauari wood in the cabinetry.
