Bain & Company Athens Offices

A&M ARCHITECTS as Architects

In the heart of Athens' distinguished Kolonaki district, A&M Architects has unveiled a stunning six-floor transformation for Bain & Company within a neoclassical gem from the 1930s. This vibrant, high-end locale now hosts a workspace that seamlessly marries efficiency, equality, and corporate culture.

Confronted with the challenge of redefining the workplace, A&M Architects set out to craft an environment that not only optimizes spatial efficiency but also champions equality and nurtures the unique philosophy of Bain & Company. The end result is a design that seamlessly guides the company toward an open-plan paradigm, combined with discreet closed offices and complemented by purpose-built spaces like quiet rooms, focus areas, and informal meeting booths.

At the heart of the transformation lies the reception and waiting area, where softly curved shapes and refined stone details welcome visitors and staff in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Venturing through the typical floors from 1st to 3rd, user comfort and wellness take center stage. Abundant natural light floods the space, complementing a dynamic seating plan that features height-adjustable desks and adjacent focus areas. A discreet collaboration table, nestled in proximity to the Managing Director's desk, facilitates spontaneous discussions, eliminating the need to venture into the open-plan expanse.

A muted grayscale palette forms the canvas, providing a subtle backdrop that intensifies Bain & Company's distinctive red identity. Acoustic comfort seamlessly integrates into the design with the deployment of fabric products, including acoustic carpets and wall coverings, ensuring a serene work environment.

The 4th floor unveils a meticulously designed café; a focal point offering diverse seating styles and maximum flexibility for events. Infused with warmth through brownish-red beams, sound-absorbing panels, and a harmonious interplay of terracotta, maroon, and vivid blues, the space originates a sophisticated yet inviting ambiance. Ascending to the loft space on the top floor unveils a haven of contrast and relaxation, complete with lounge furniture, a coffee point, and an adjoining terrace boasting breathtaking views of the city skyline, including Lycabettus Hill and the Acropolis. This design seamlessly integrates hospitality into the workplace, providing a refined and comfortable atmosphere.
