BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE at Shinjuku Isetan

Schemata Architects / Jo Nagasaka as Architects

BAOBAO ISSEY MIYAKE is the brand’s line of bags and goods composed of isosceles right triangle polygons, which transform into intriguing shapes. To counter-balance the strong presence of the products, we decided to incorporate contradicting characters in the design of display furniture; simple and high-impact at the same time. Urethane sponge, which is a familiar daily material, is enlarged to an unusual scale to make high-impact display furniture. Epoxy resin mixed with color toner is injected into some of perforations to create a sense of depth on surface.
