FMSA Architecture engaged with Maxiply early on with this particular education project, to design and create custom wall panelling designs that was well received by the students at the specialist school in Belmont, Victoria. Reviving the corridors from painted plasterboard; the client was looking for a material that was interesting and most importantly, durable. FMSA designed 3 custom printed ply options that incorporated Barwon Valley’s logo and identity colours in a connected approach for all 3 separate buildings. As shown in the pictures, the extension of felt boards were incorporated into the ply panels to allow teachers and students to present their work in a refined and neat approach. Lastly the addition of Group 1 fire ratings were a necessary and important component of this project. Maxiply applied an intumescent coating to the face of the ply, warranting it to a Group 1 Fire Rating; which was achieved and applied before installation.
