Beacon House

StudioSC as Architects

Designed for an acclaimed video editor and architectural photographer, this upstate New York home was a truly unique gut renovation. The existing 3,700 square foot home had character and qualities that deserved to be kept in tact, however the layout of certain social and private spaces were not being utilized to their fullest potential. The interior was fully gutted with walls and finishes were removed completely to allow for the updates. Some new features include a solid oak and steel cantilevered staircase up to a loft that had been closed off previously, a modern open kitchen, and new finishes that give the space a modern airy feel.
