BELMOND / CHOBE NATIONAL PARK, BOTSWANA
Lying on the edge of the mysterious Savute Channel, the full redesign and refurbishment of the Savute Elephant Lodge was sure to incorporate sustainable design decisions and practices as well as showcase the high density of elephants that this corner of Botswana is known for.
The new design is a tribute to the golden age of exploration. While being sophisticated and fresh, the design aptly evokes a sense of adventure and discovery. Interiors by Muza Lab.
Lodge Features
The lodge includes 12 tented suites (each with a private deck and outdoor shower), spa, lounge, bar, an open deck with pool and firepit, and a viewing hide overlooking the watering hole so popular with the passing herds of elephants.
Leading Sustainability Features
Luxury Frontiers completed its first Tesla battery off-grid installation at the lodge as part of a hybrid solar-powered system. This system will reduce the lodge’s dependency on diesel by an astounding 90%, reducing carbon emissions. Other responsible decisions include the removal of all concrete on site and the use of eco-friendly composite bamboo decking.
