Concept: Single-family house for a family of four into the surrounding of the small village Bohumileč in Pardubice region.

Volume solution of the house comes out of the form of the rustic house with a saddle roof. Volume and material simplicity join the house with its natural and urban framework. The building “seeks to be” an unobtrusive, but after all expressive “resident” of the place. The motto of rural simplicity and severity infiltrate into the house from the ground substance to the detail.

The south orientation of the building along with the east-west direction of the view into the countryside defines the axes, which the groundplan of the house is based on. The east – west axis divides the house into the southern living and northern service wing of the house. The building is embodied into “microworld” of the lot at the end of the village. The lot is surrounded with a barrier of full-grown trees.

Architectural solution: The ground floor involves an integrated space of the interconnected living room and the dining room. The kitchen and the staff workrooms adjoin that space from the north. The service centre staircase and, the entrance part are located by the northern front facade of the house. Rooms with the southern orientation, staircase hall with the carrel with the view of the countryside are situated in the first floor, the bathroom and the lavatory are in the northern part. The wooden husk of the house hides the interior in white colours. Colourfulness of the house steps back the colourfulness of the surrounding green. The colours of the surroundings infiltrate the house and change it during the seasons.

Construction: The main load bearing structure is built out of Porotherm system. On that structural base there is a wooden structure providing both the space for 150mm of insulation ( Rockwool ) and the support for the wooden cladding. This cladding is rendered in wooden 140 mm wide boards (larch wood) with no finishing.

The shading elements ( canopy on south facade and the porch on the north ) are made out of wooden frames (larch wood ) covered with semi-transparentpolycarbonate panels (pergola) or plywood / OSB panels (porch ).

The additional elements rendered in dark colour – facade window frames and the volume of utility room situated on north are made up of coloured plywood (poplar wood) The roof structure is based on wooden lattice beams made up of spruce wooden profiles covered with OSB panels and TiZn metal sheeting isolated with Rockwool insulation.
