We blended the renovations to this Camp Hill property seamlessly with the existing home. Our aim was to improve the overall liveability of the property. Our clients wanted a multi-functional outdoor space that could be used for outdoor lounging and dining year-round. What’s more, this space had to be large enough to accommodate an outdoor kitchen zone and dining area that could comfortably entertain up to 24 people. Not only did these lifestyle renovations drastically improve the functionality of the home but they also improved the streetscape of this quaint property.

What was the brief?

Our clients wanted to create an outdoor space that was perfect for their growing family. With 14 grandchildren in total, their original home and its unlevelled backyard and disjointed barbecue area was not suitable for family gatherings or for the children to play. The goal was to make the home more liveable, to create a home perfect for the retirees new home lifestyle.

How is the project unique?

The original home is a beautiful character home, and the clients wanted to keep the original feel of this. The project is unique as it blends seamlessly the old character design with the new, modern outdoor area. The chocolate bricks contrast perfectly against the character homes original grey, making this home stand out on the street.

What were the solutions?

The solution was to level the backyard, and create a open outdoor area with a kitchenette and living area perfect for large gatherings. The living area is protected to ensure usability no matter the weather or time of year. The levelled backyard also created a space for improved landscaping, accessible garden beds and a lawn for the grandchildren to run around.
