ETEM's systems and façade solutions are significant part of the development of one of the tallest buildings in Bulgaria – Capital Fort Business Center, which will undoubtedly leave an impression on everyone passing the entrance of Sofia.
Capital Fort is the perfect symbioses of practical, but exciting architecture with an impressive height of 126 m and 36,000m² facades. Originally inspired by the cathedral arches of Sofia, concept was created by Atkins Global and the architectural design was done by A&A architects.
The project consists of a high-rise tower and "L" shaped low-rise office building and 40 m low-rise building, both standing over a retail “Podium” and underground parking. The special details of the project, the increased constructive requirements, the need for energy efficiency and the choice of triple glazing, led to decision for designing a bespoke modular façade system for the project- E99. For the high-rise building is developed a unitised façade with a subsequent order of vertically oriented standard modules 1350 x 3800 mm, produced in a workshop and fixed to the reinforced concrete slabs by specific aluminium fixing devices. The modules are composition of transparent and opaque part.
The low-rise building and the ‘’podium’’ are realized by combining unitised façade system, stick façade system E85 and tailor made rain screen cladding for the zones with aluminium panels.
It is remarkable the innovative solution for a smooth transition between the facades of the two buildings trough ventilated facade with trapezoidal panels made of special aluminium sheets ENF. The ventilated façade is designed for the loose areas of the low building and allows the realization of complex polygonal structures in two wings of the low building.
In order to realize the architectural ideas for the different façade shapes and decorative elements, ETEM has been developed many other unique solutions.
