At Casa al Pozzo, we set out to create more than just a house, we envisioned a living space that would exist in quiet harmony with the Tuscan landscape. From the start, our goal was to design a home that felt like a natural extension of its surroundings, both respectful and deeply connected to the land.
We followed the contours of the site to shape a building that nestles gently into the hillside, allowing the architecture to adapt to the terrain rather than impose upon it. This approach fostered a strong sense of flow between indoors and out, where every space opens out to the landscape and draws the eye to nature.
Sustainability was a driving force behind our choices. We integrated photovoltaic panels subtly into the environment, ensured ample natural shading, and used landscaping to regulate temperature and promote energy efficiency. For us, it wasn’t just about design, it was about living well, consciously, and in balance with the environment.
Inside, we designed an open-plan layout that encourages connection. At the heart of the home, a central staircase lit by natural light brings warmth and rhythm to the space. Each level is thoughtfully arranged to support both shared moments and personal retreat.
Privacy was carefully considered through the use of existing trees and new plantings, allowing us to shape intimate outdoor spaces without disconnecting from the surrounding views. These green buffers not only provide shelter but also create a continuous conversation between the house and its setting.
Casa al Pozzo represents our belief that architecture should be thoughtful, responsive, and deeply rooted in place. It’s a home shaped by nature, designed for conscious living, and built to stand quietly and beautifully over time.
