The residence is located in one of the most solemn areas of the city of Valencia, in a

building constructed in 1885. The original space had the characteristics of Valencian

architecture from the late 19th century: high ceilings, large windows, and moldings.

The main challenge of the project was to maintain the essence of the place,

integrating all these classical elements with more contemporary ones without losing balance and coherence. In order to respect the original aspects of the house as much as possible and as an explicit request from the client, it was decided to preserve and rehabilitate the moldings that were in better condition and replicate those that were not.

The selection of materials is also crucial in this sense, combining textures and more

sophisticated materials, such as marble and brass, in a very controlled manner, with

modern elements such as smooth white walls or fabric-upholstered furniture. All of this with wood as a backdrop, present both in the flooring and in the form of paneling that harmoniously integrated storage spaces and the laundry area. The warmth of this material is accentuated by the entry of natural light present in most rooms of the house, providing a greater sense of comfort and serenity.

The project opts for an open layout that integrates all the comforts of a modern home while maintaining its spirit intact. The entrance area becomes a small space that acts as a foyer delimited by a lattice that reveals the living room to its right while visually connecting with a resting area with a fireplace located just in front of the entrance door, which serves as a link between the living-dining room and the kitchen.

The kitchen is one of the rooms that best defines the essence of Casa Ana, paying attention to the smallest detail to maintain that balance between the classic and the contemporary, where both styles are perfectly integrated. A central island in Calacatta Gold marble presides over the space, adorned with golden faucets and wooden cabinets. Being located in the hallway area, glass sliding doors with also golden frames were chosen, which can be fully opened to preserve the open concept.
