Located in the prestigious “Argenta Residencial” neighborhood in Zapopan, Jalisco, Casa AR stands as a residence that seamlessly blends contemporary design with a deep respect for its natural surroundings. Situated adjacent to the barranca that forms part of "Cañadas," the house enjoys a privileged view of the surrounding landscape, which has become the focal point of its architectural design.
The context and topography of the site played a crucial role in the conceptual process of Casa AR. The sloping rear of the plot was strategically utilized to create an impressive double height at the back of the house, maximizing the views of the surrounding hills. A detailed study of the area revealed the absence of significant constructions that could negatively impact the design, allowing the architects to focus on aspects of functionality, orientation, and openness.
The architectural proposal was developed with the goal of creating a home that, while intended for a young family with everyday needs, exudes a sense of spaciousness, elegance, and sobriety. The layout of the spaces was carefully designed to ensure that each area of the house fully capitalizes on the views towards the ravine, with large windows that flood the interiors with natural light and frame the landscape as if it were a work of art.
To maintain a clean and low-maintenance design, durable and contemporary materials were selected: concrete, stone, black aluminum, clear glass, and steel latticework on the exterior. In contrast, the interior of the house is visually warmed by meticulously designed carpentry elements and lighting that highlights every detail. The stairs, composed of steel plates in an elegant matte black finish, add a touch of sophistication and modernity, seamlessly integrating into the homely atmosphere that the young family requires for their daily living.
Casa AR is not only a reflection of the ability to adapt to the natural environment but also a celebration of functionality and contemporary aesthetics.
