Casa BN represents a design method that attempts to take a different approach to architecture and construction in the residential area of ​​the Padua plain.

The project was born from the opportunity to recover the volume of an existing building (about 800 cubic meters) that did not have a particular architectural quality, therefore the intervention takes on a character of renewal of the urban fabric by interpreting the project building as a new piece of a homogeneously anthropized territory.

The reduction of land consumption becomes an important theme of the design, in fact compared to the existing one the new project has recovered 120 square meters of surface regarding the waterproof footprint of the building.

The composition of this building draws inspiration from the surrounding context that dictates some volumetric choices aimed at ensuring the best possible distribution development.

The proximity to the neighborhood road requires a first large volume dedicated to services and the entrance, with the function of creating a screen both visually and acoustically.

Protected by the mass of the first volume, the public part of the house develops completely open and almost conceived as an architectural void in complete relation with the external space.

The volume that rests on the upper area maintains a simple and long-lined morphology characterized by a "hat" structure that unifies the project and protects the main glass parts creating a spatial unicum between the interior and the exterior.

The excavations carried out on the main volumes make it possible to recreate a shelter for cars and the main covered entrance made evident by a continuous partition that accompanies the visitor towards the house.

The openings are conceived as carvings on the masonry and their position is strategic with regards to views, the study of natural light and solar input.
