Designing a home is always a challenge we love. Thinking about the needs program, the flows, the articulations of the sectors, the geometry of the spaces. The interpretation of the soul of each of the residents who will use the space there. Casa Melhado is located in a gated community in the city of Estância Velha in the Vale dos Sinos region. Its implantation, on a land measuring 16x25m, was guided by legal conditions and the needs program. This program required two patios for the house to open up to its interior. The house allows for a dialogue between the external space and the internal space. Being inside looking like you're outside. Especially for being a condominium house that allows this solution. On the main façade, the sheer volume of slatted concrete supports the linear volume of the bedrooms, which are hidden behind a black metallic brise. The brise is embedded in the white volume that stands out and protects the bedrooms from the rising sun. Access to the house is from the vehicle shelter covered by this volume, where the hall directs the user to the rear area of ​​the residence, allowing it to be discovered along the way. You arrive at the integrated social area that faces west and where the sun shines throughout the afternoon. The area opens both to the internal patio and to the back of the land, where the swimming pool and the most incredible view of the sunset are located. On the stairs that lead to the intimate dormitory area, there is the vegetation of the inner courtyard beside it, which forms a green wall and hides the boundary wall. The internal palette in neutral tones, developed by the Resident and responsible for the entire interior project, which managed to create an incredible dialogue with the architecture - with emphasis on the wood-paneled fireplace bookcase - combined with the minimalist character of the external landscaping that includes a small lemon tree, building an unpretentious, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and an essentially simple way of living.
