An old joinery is the location that gave birth to the new family house located in the suburbs of Bassano del Grappa.
It is a single-family residence that maintains the original form and style of the previous artisanal building. Here, the project takes advantage of the existing height to create a new attic, while the ground floor has been rearranged to give space to a cozy living.
In this floor there is: the main entrance, a guest-bathroom, a studio, a play-room and a huge space that overlooks the surrounding landscape in the south-eastern part of the house, due to the presence of large glass windows.
Also, the staircase is specifically designed on project: it is a steel shelf-staircase that connects the two floors. The attic only consists of two bedrooms and a complete bathroom.
Moreover, the indoor and outdoor can dialogue thanks to the presence of a porch, made of a metallic structure of pillars and bims, which gives the opportunity to enjoy the external space where grape is grown.
By crossing the eastern wall that was originally maintained, it is possible to arrive to a new multi-purpose space (the ex laboratory). From the outside the overall view is the theatrical fifth.
The structure is mainly made of concrete while the roof is wood covered by an aluminum layer. The external facade covering is made of coat insulation.
