In the Roman neighborhood of San Giovanni, architect Manuela Tognoli was called to design the renovation of an apartment around 80 mq inside a 1960s building typical of the area.
The nearby Aurelian Walls and the green pine trees onto which the apartment overlooks, inspired the shapes and colors of the work: a careful chromatic balance between blush, sand and green is matched with burgundy, colour that we find in various details of the house.

The original floor plan is completely revisited: the living room and the main bedroom have been reversed to favor the view onto the terrace, the kitchen is brought into the living room and a second bedroom is inserted in its place.

The winter garden used as a dining room creates a filter between the outside and the inside. It overlooks the living and kitchen area, the fulcrum of the house project: the wallpaper designed ad hoc by Daniela Pinotti recalls the softness of external nature, and outlines the entrance and the kitchen wall, designed and taylor made by a carpenter, with the characteristic curvilinear top in burgundy colour.

A sliding screen recalls the shapes of the paper and takes us into the sleeping area.
The room also overlooks the pine trees through a large telescope window onto the outside.

The 1960s circle glass of one of the original doors of the house was reused to create visual continuity between the living area and the sleeping area.
The bathroom was created with tiles in shades of blush and burgundy.
The small format ot the oak parquet alternates with a bluch stoneware herringbone in the winter garden.

Lamps are handcrafted for the project with the same burgundy color.
 The sinuous lines of the house merges with the objects of the designers selected by the architect for the furnishings of the house: the coffee tables in Guatemala marble from the Marbelicious series by Millim Studio interact with a floral design installation created by Flovver, and the works on the wall by artist Delphine Valli.

The  art work by Alessandro Piangiamore from the series "Qualche uccello si perde nel cielo" installed in the dining area, invites us to dream while looking at the sky and the surrounding nature, sitting on the Cesca chairs in Vienna straw around the round table custom designed by the'architect. Ceramics are handmade by Madlen Ceramics.
