CC Pavilion

The project is located in the city of Loja, Ecuador, at the edge of the urban area, on a site of approximately 6 hectares owned by the Loja Chamber of Commerce. The setting is characterized by an open rural landscape, where the presence of a natural lagoon defines the immediate surroundings and structures the relationship between architecture and territory.

Prior to the intervention, the site contained only sports fields, with no supporting infrastructure for users. The program responds directly to this condition and incorporates restroom facilities, a covered multipurpose space, a bar, and an industrial kitchen, complementing existing sports activities and supporting the future development of an outdoor events area.

The project is conceived as a Pavilion CC of contained scale, whose configuration seeks to integrate into the surrounding landscape through a recognizable typology and an austere material expression. The volumetry draws from elements typical of local rural constructions, such as pitched roofs and massive walls, reinterpreted through a contemporary and functional approach.

The spatial organization is clear and direct. Service areas are grouped under a simple structural system, while spaces with greater public use are oriented toward the front esplanade, establishing a direct relationship between interior and exterior. This condition transforms the pavilion into an active support for collective activities, beyond its strictly utilitarian function.

From a constructive standpoint, the project adopts simple and efficient solutions, where the wall system and roof define both the image and the performance of the building. Constructive decisions prioritize durability, ease of maintenance, and coherence with the context.

The pavilion thus materializes as a precise and restrained piece of infrastructure, capable of responding to the needs of the site without imposing itself on the landscape, integrating through scale, placement, and constructive language.
