Clínica Goldberg

Located on the 10th floor of the Arcos Bosques corporate complex in Mexico City, the Goldberg Clinic departs from the traditional dental-clinic experience by introducing a symbolic representation of the cosmos. The aim was to create an environment that promotes both physical and emotional well-being through a sensorial, immersive, and dynamic architectural approach.

The project constructs its spatial narrative through universal symbols that guide the user experience. Upon entering, a light fixture evokes the sun, while a stainless-steel cylinder represents the moon. This sculptural piece becomes the central axis of the space: it organizes circulation, connects the programmatic areas, and houses a meditation room that encourages introspection. Further along, a constellation of ceiling luminaires simulates a starry sky.

The layout is articulated through enclosed volumes with rounded corners that contribute to spatial continuity and movement, as well as through vertical elements detached from the ceiling, allowing natural light to filter in from above. This strategy creates a fluid atmosphere in which curved geometry softens transitions. The sequence begins with the waiting room and reception area, followed by a sound-therapy room, the meditation cylinder, a laboratory visible through a window, and a series of naturally lit consultation rooms that culminate in the meeting room. The experience moves from the collective to the intimate: it begins in a shared space and gradually becomes more personalized, with the medical team guiding each patient through distinct stages focused on holistic well-being.

Materials play an essential role in this sensorial narrative. Travertine marble flooring symbolizes the earth, the stainless-steel cylinder represents the moon, and baba de nopal—an artisanal mixture of lime and clay—evokes mountains and vegetation. Together, these elements build an interior microcosm in which every component conveys a symbolic reading of the universe.

One of the project’s greatest technical challenges was the fabrication of the stainless-steel furniture, whose plates had to be bent and assembled with absolute precision. Likewise, the wall containing the consultation rooms—built as a white glass box illuminated from within—was the most complex detail, as the glass panels were assembled on site without any additional supports beyond gravity and adhesive, resulting in a completely seamless appearance for these light-diffusing partitions.

The Goldberg Clinic proposes an architecture in which form, function, and concept coexist organically. Every sequence, texture, and atmosphere is designed to offer an integral experience of well-being for both patients and the medical team.
