Peter Pichler Architecture's Cloud P, is a residential development located in the Carinthia region near Faaker See, one of Austria’s most picturesque holiday destinations. Situated just a few kilometers from the borders of Italy and Slovenia, this idyllic setting is nestled within the breathtaking mountainous environment of the Karawanken range, offering stunning views of Mittagskogel.
Cloud P consists of twenty apartments housed within three distinctive buildings, thoughtfully integrated into the surrounding urban and natural context. Apartments range from 75 to 150 square meters, each offering privileged views of Faaker See and the serene landscape. Residents will enjoy exclusive amenities such as private lake access, a pool, fitness facilities, and a private winery.
The design reflects a seamless connection with the natural surroundings, particularly through the transparency of the south façade, which opens up to the landscape. Each building consists of two floors plus a recessed penthouse, with a pyramid-shaped geometry that creates generous outdoor spaces in the form of cantilevering terraces and loggias. These features ensure optimal views, natural shading, and privacy.
The contrasting north façade is more opaque, sculpturally expressing the volume of each apartment and creating a duality between the on-street north side and the panoramic lake facing south side. The use of Krastaler marble, sourced from the nearby Millstättersee Mountains, grounds the project in local tradition while contrasting the “lightness” of the overall structure.
By blending indoor and outdoor spaces, Cloud P delivers a unique living experience that seamlessly combines modern design with the timeless beauty of the region’s natural surroundings.
