Contemporary oasis involved constructing and designing an opulent house that focused on maximizing access to natural light with skylight and floor to ceiling windows allowing sunlight to flood in. With five bedrooms and other semi private family spaces, the layout was segregated such that all rooms connected to a passage on each floor.
Upon entering through the main gate located in the corner, the pathway is designed such that one can enjoy the view of the entire house as well as the landscape surrounding it, while walking in towards the south facing main door that marks the entrance, hidden away from initial sight.
To establish a calming and serene experience, the design approach naturally inclined towards contemporary style. By playing with various design elements and addition of luxurious drama fundamentally helped in achieving a perfectly balanced and contemporary style home.
The spatial positioning offers an ideal vantage point with direct garden views. The walls are adorned with textured grey finishes, while a distinctive, figurative marble in a leather finish graces both the fireplace and coffee table, serving as the focal points of the room. The artwork adorning the walls takes precedence over the understated furnishings, creating a striking visual contrast.
“When working on interiors, we often use tints and shades of grey that help bring out the colors of natural materials. We wanted to create an image of minimal boldness, grey and brown like no other allowed us to achieve this goal.”
The furniture, intricately designed alongside complementary elements, harmoniously merges to evoke a sense of natural warmth. Moreover, to introduce a touch of luxury, we tastefully incorporated bronze strips in a minimalist fashion, elegantly adorning the room.
To infuse interiors with an artistic flair, we employed the primary color blue amidst a subdued palette. Notably, the blue sculptures, like the horse displayed in the first-floor passage, serve as a quintessential method to introduce vibrant hues into an otherwise neutral environment.
Artwork holds a significant role in enhancing the ambiance of a home. Notably, the first floor stands out as a focal point in this house conclusion, while the furniture selection in the area is both eye-catching and distinctive.
The room features grey textured walls complemented by wooden paneling and rustic leather furniture. Additionally, an adjoining balcony houses a solitary hanging swing.
The flooring and wall cladding feature textured stone, complemented by a faux vaulted wooden ceiling. Metal and glass windows and doors provide intricate details that harmonize seamlessly with the wood plus the leather upholstery on second floor.
The clients expressed a desire for a designated reading space, prompting us to establish a cozy reading nook on the second floor. Furnished with a comfortable lounge chair and elegant designer bookshelves, the area offers a serene environment for reading while enjoying picturesque views of the terrace.
