Cool Oak Way sits in a canyon above the Pacific in Malibu, among oaks. Philippe Naouri Studio's work here is about canyon living and a collected interior; it was completed in 2025.
The studio's own drawings of December 2023, a site plan and a layout plan, set the terraces, the steps and the pool against the contours of the canyon.
Outside, white walls and glass; inside, white rooms and pale oak. Bronze entry doors open onto a court under a spreading tree. The kitchen pairs pale oak cabinetry with a white island, and terrazzo and a cedar sauna complete the palette.
The dining room holds a black table and a grand piano, the ocean through the glass. The living room has black leather chairs on a bright rug, and a fireplace with low chairs facing the ocean. One bedroom opens onto the pool through sliding glass, another is lined with slatted oak panels, and the media room looks onto a red sculpture in the court.
Every room looks down the canyon to the ocean. At nightfall the glass walls glow through the oaks. Completed 2025. Photography and floor plan: Philippe Naouri Studio.
