The “Buffer Zone” is the area surrounding the Chan Chan Ruin. This area is under a constant threat from urban expansion and illegal occupation. The proposal will attempt to reach the following: protection of the Chan Chan Ruins, create an education and exploratory environment, promote the growth of local and national tourism, develop recreation zones, and increase security and surveillance; to achieve these goals it will be necessary to implement them in a series of steps. These steps will redevelop the area for use and pleasure from visitors and tourists.
