Cuong’s House, designed by Studio A+H Architect, is an unassuming two-storey home on fifty four square-meter land. The name of house is followed the name of homeowner who ambitiously began his own home project for small family to put down roots in hometown Quy Nhon. The project use limited financial and spatial resources, the critical design focus Minimalism with commits that this home provides basic necessities: protection, spaces for habitation activities, and space in private for every member. The architects have calculated to combine the rooms together to create a space, both reasonable and convenient. In addition, combining skylights with many glass windows helps the house "cheat" to add more area, making the space more airy.
Central air well skylight favors vertical ventilation moving cooling air flows and allows daylight to reach most parts of the house including an indoor flora without being blocked by wooden stair. The ventilating skylight passage stretches over the bathroom ceiling making this just-upstairs shared bathroom, accommodating the need for both floors, dry quickly and in-odorous. Rooms better with privacy walls: two bedrooms and a bathroom, share the second storey and unite to the common space with the view to outdoor landscape.
On the execution, the provident design thinking output enabled the sequential construction planning that minimized labor cost. Refashioned customary construction materials and technicalities are applied to prevent costly complexity and errors.
