Designing a place where nature is no longer an amenity, but the first form of care
Directly linked to the site’s topography, a shared plinth unifies the project’s various components and inscribes them within a natural, landscape-based, architectural and aesthetic continuum. Above the plinth, each architectural element unfolds in the manner of the surrounding trees. Here, the forest is not merely a backdrop: it becomes an immersive sensory experience.
Fully blending with its surroundings, the resulting architecture plays with carefully controlled heights, while the pervasive use of timber on the façades plays with light and transparency to create a soothing and harmonious atmosphere. As nature is an essential source of well-being and serenity, it permeates and shapes the architecture in various forms of therapeutic landscaping: sensory gardens stimulating the senses, green passageways on every level, spaces for contemplation and shared terraces, all designed to foster a close connection with the landscape. And at the heart of the project, the Village Square brings residents together, carers and families around a shared living space.
