EK Mansion 05 is envisioned as an exhibition space for the owner’s extensive Art Collection. In the project, architecture serves art, both are integrated in a holistic
dialogue between designer, client, space, and creativity.

The whole interior design project was conceived as if it was an exhibition space
for the numerous art pieces of the owner, seeking to enhance, both in its lines
and in its functional layout, the relationship between art and architecture in
which the latter is almost at the service of the former, both part of a holistic
process between designer, client, architecture and art.

The project included the positioning of a new sculptural staircase volume,
in a different position from the existing one, allowing the hall to be divided
and at the same time guaranteeing privacy for access to the upper floor. The
project has also maximized the presence of vertical surfaces useful for the
arrangement of future works of art, transforming the interior into a domestic
exhibition space in which architecture supports and enhances art, without
ever overpowering it. The result is a functional space that allows the exhibition layout to be differentiated, allowing flexibility and variation in the display of works.

The double volume of the old staircase body becomes an element of breath and exaltation of the void, as a source of light and depth of space.
The project also envisaged the extension of two existing buildings to accommodate the spa-gym area, the office and the dining area. In these new volumes, the openings are punctuated by large double-height windows: they allow visual continuity between inside and outside and a continuous relationship between natural and artificial.

The design is expressed with simple, clean lines, minimal in design but functional in layout. Natural materials and palettes contribute to creating a linear and clean environment, and act as a backdrop to the colours and textures of the artworks.
The project reinterprets the traditional structure of Arabian residences, incorporating water and vegetation as functional elements for bioclimatic cooling and intelligent utilization of sunlight. The house creates a connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces, providing an immersive living experience within the domestic landscape.
