En-House is a unique renovation project which different from other renovation projects located in crowed city like Tokyo. Because the purpose of this renovation is to reduce total floor area in respond to reducing in a number of family members (from 4 to 2 people) and bring in the nature from outside to inside of the house. The new layout plan is to accommodate 2 people to live comfortably. Thanks to reducing a number of rooms on 1st floor, it is possible to insert veranda called ENGAWA in Japanese. This ENGAWA is interchangeable space between exterior and interior by opening or closing the motorized blinds. Additionally, En means round and unity. Therefore, a round shaped atrium on 2nd floor represents unity of family members and also creates visual connection between members who live on both floors.
