FENDI opened the new flagship in Milan in September on the heels of the new Avenue Montaigne store in Paris in July. Gwenael Nicolas, Curiosity, was commissioned to design the new retail concept. The boutique is covering two floors and about 500 square meters; standout materials inspired by the brand's Roman roots include travertine, leather, bronze and stone.
The boutique is housed in the 16th - century Casa Carcassola-Grandi, with a neoclassical-style façade onto the prestigious Via Montenapoleone.
"Baguette" is displayed around 47,000 hand assembled bronze spikes, which were inspired from the process of fur craftsmanship.
Fendi's iconic item "fur" room features black lacquered walls with gold and bronze highlights.
A wall to ceiling leather covered room presents the made to order collection of bags products.
Inside the shop, customized art works and crafted items create the shop unique and magnificent. Italian artist's installation featuring amber resin pixels covers a column at the entrance. The elevator is covered with collage of Japanese silver foils.
