La Ferme des Marcassins is a project of rehabilitation of an old barn, isolated in the countryside Haute-Saone. It follows the constructive tradition of agricultural buildings in the region: three bays identical (5mx12m), encircled by a wall of limestone porch central part frame related. This was to keep the magic of these places, see the original beams and the underside of the tiles, the hardiness stone walls, the light rays filtering through the badly joined tiles. A ground floor, only the two side spans are occupied. They are interconnected by a Inner glass gallery. Upstairs, wood volumes, autonomous and isolated, detached from the walls, are placed on the top floor ground floor. The spaces '' living '' are thus '' boxes '' built in the unheated existing volume. The project was implemented in two phases that correspond to each of these two levels. These are two highly differentiated worlds: The ground floor houses the living rooms. Built with massive, heavy materials (stone, concrete ...), it remains in contact with the soil and the earth, and is rooted in the real hardiness (build just what is needed with local resources). The space remains modern. Upstairs, next to the structure houses the rest rooms. The structure is composed of single frames pine boards, assemblies are reduced to their simplest expression. There is a contrast between the rusticity of the apparent structure tree, light and rough (rough sawn) and a cozy interior, coated fabric taut and backélisés wood panels. The long distributor part is a volume of 2m40 wide x 2m40 high and 15m long. This space glass at each end, abuts a side view of the most beautiful house wall (15cm), opens on the other side views' infinity '' on the landscape.
