FORA at Henry Wood House

Modus Workspace as Delivery team

Henry Wood House symbolises London's architectural and cultural transformation, paying homage to the past while embracing the future. Built on the grounds of The Queen's Hall, just a few steps away from Oxford Street, this site was once the city’s musical heart, pulsing with the music of The BBC Proms. It has now been reimagined into a fusion of heritage and contemporary design. This nine-floor transformation pays tribute to an era through its timeless design and forward-thinking utility.

As you step into Henry Wood House, you are greeted by a palette of greens and beiges, colours that echo the earthiness of nature and sustainability. It is a deliberate choice, reflecting our commitment to a workspace that nurtures well-being and respects our environment. This is not a place that shouts, its beauty lies in its subtlety and thoughtfulness. From the carefully restored herringbone flooring that reminisces the building’s prime to the integration of eco-conscious materials, every detail contributes to a workspace that embraces collaboration and encourages innovation.

Functionality and aesthetics unite in Henry Wood House, where every floor contributes to a collective experience of sophistication and purpose. The ground floor offers a retreat of tranquillity, with a well-equipped gym and a lush garden that doubles as a wellness sanctuary amidst the urban rush.

The design is simple yet layered, offering sophistication without complexity. Dominant design features throughout the building assert a sense of deliberate and thoughtful artistry, making each space functional and aesthetically pleasing. The breakout areas are a blend of communal energy and private nooks, punctuated with bespoke furniture and lighting crafted to support concentration and collaboration. The reception boasts an overhead of perforated metal, a contemporary twist that draws the eye upwards and complements the natural light spilling through the windows. It is in these details that the space announces its uniqueness, offering a dynamic yet serene environment for both work and rest.

Over a year, we met every challenge with creativity. A testament to collaborative success, the project progressed smoothly due to the collaboration between our team and our repeat client FORA. By taking the project from Stage Two to completion, we have crafted a workspace that stands as a beacon of harmony between past and present.
