Grey house – single family home

Pushak as Architects

The clients - and older couple - wanted a home that was maintenance-free and without steps or thresholds on the main floor, situated in the garden of their former residence. Partially shaped so as not to hinder the view from the old house, the building is placed in a steep slope and surrounded by retaining walls that form terraces and paths. The interior is planned with emphasize on the view toward south and east, and on openness between the main living rooms. Floors and walls are site cast concrete, and all exterior materials are mineral; brick, concrete, slate and granite. The different gray tones in the exterior give a homogenous and solid impression, while the different material structures and patterns create a subtle variation.
