HALT, SOURCE AND CROSS

ISMO arquitectura y diseño as Architects

[ urban intervention ]

Located in Casabermeja, population immersed in the mounts of Malaga to which it owes its topography, the intervention is reduced to qualify the plain next to the Church of Our Lady of Socorro, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest.

A new paving that will save the different slopes, a fountain on which the Stone Cross is relocated and a halt to wait for the bus, create the space.

[ halt ]

The halt inspired by old laundry, in which water was the binding element between constructions of public use, as well as sources of drinking water or troughs for farm animals, is part of the whole that materializes the esplanade of the Church.

White finish to mimic this, protects the traveler more vulnerable to the bus wait. Its simple form that is born and dies in the ground covering the seat, allows with a slight movement to visualize the arrival of the transport.

Next to the fountain that pours its water under the cross, it integrates in a subtle way with the platform of the church, transporting our memory to those moments in which these elements served for the use of all the habitants and configured the picturesque of the peoples.
