This new swimming pool and leisure complex in the north east of England is clad in 21,600 individually prepared terracotta elements. The alternating convex and concave elements, which are coated in a special glazing, create an extraordinary overall appearance that produces reflections, changes constantly with the light and evokes water and rippling waves. The architects were inspired by the design of the Trumpf staff canteen in Ditzingen (Barkow Leibinger).
