A celebration of Vancouver’s cultural diversity and replete with an atmosphere that exudes world-class luxury and elegance, Hawksworth Restaurant, in the legendary Rosewood Hotel Georgia, has emerged as the city’s eponymous fine dining establishment. Studio Munge’s interior design reflects Chef David Hawksworth’s relentless drive for perfection and enthusiasm for contemporary Canadian cuisine.
Hawksworth is comprised of three distinct rooms, each inspired by the structure of the heritage building: the Rodney Graham Room and Bar Lounge are ideal for casual, daytime dining while the Pearl Room serves as the perfect backdrop for elegant evening meals. Deep, European-influenced transitional archways connect the three rooms, allowing visitors a moment to acquaint themselves with each room’s aesthetic before transitioning to the next.
The Pearl Room features a dazzling central chandelier, custom iridescent Venetian plaster wall relief and two-way fireplace wall. The Rodney Graham Room’s vibrant signature 3D art piece by the local Vancouver artist complements the originality of the menu and creates a lively atmosphere. The third room of Hawksworth Restaurant, the Bar Lounge – leather-panelled, chrome-rimmed and granite-topped – is distinguished by an aesthetic that emphasizes elegant tailoring; with Wenge-finished wood accents, bronzed antique mirrors and a custom-designed sculpted ceiling, each design aspect incites movement and dynamism.
A Finalist in the 2014 James Beard Foundation Restaurant Design Awards, Hawksworth Restaurant has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades and has landed on many “must-try” lists for travelers visiting the city of Vancouver. The interior design’s functional and authentic elements, combined with signature original artworks, embody the chef’s culinary creativity and make Hawksworth Restaurant one of the top modern fine dining rooms in the country.
