One of the main attractions of this project is its development within a historic early 20th‑century building protected by the INBA. Its architectural significance and strategic location make it a landmark in one of Mexico City’s most culturally and historically valuable areas. Hotel More, a boutique hotel in the heart of the Tabacalera neighborhood, rises opposite the Monument to the Revolution as a space that bridges tradition and modernity.
The concept was defined through a dialogue between the architectural preexistence and a contemporary vision of Mexican hospitality. The intervention encompassed the full renovation of approximately 740 m², distributed across 68 rooms —including single and double suites— with a proposal that delivers a fresh, luminous, and welcoming experience. The minimalism of the living spaces contrasts with the chromatic richness characteristic of Mexican culture, creating an atmosphere that combines sobriety with vitality.
The rooms were conceived as sanctuaries of calm and harmony, privileging natural light through the use of the existing structural grid and the building’s original configuration. Each room benefits from natural illumination and ventilation, reinforcing a sense of well‑being. This language is complemented by bathrooms in dark tones that add depth and character, intensifying the material and sensory contrast of the experience.
As part of the heritage conservation strategy, significant elements such as the façade, staircases, and central courtyard were preserved, maintaining the architectural essence that distinguishes the building. The horseshoe configuration of the complex was leveraged to enhance spatial relationships and enrich the guest experience.
Developed between October 2024 and March 2026, the project prioritized collaboration with local suppliers and an execution guided by simplicity, material richness, and functionality. The result is a hotel that reinterprets Mexican identity from a contemporary perspective, offering an authentic experience for both national and international visitors while preserving its connection to the history and urban context from which it originates.
