Twenty-one plateaus and seven volumes tell the story of this house.

The aim of the project is to give a new and even identity to a house belonging to the same family for several generations. The original house formed by the aggregation of different interventions at different times, with different construction systems. Each of the rooms in the house describes a moment in life of this family story. Thus it was essential to maintain the structure, spaces, uses, garden and memories, presenting them in a new way.

The further layer built in the history of this place employs new volumes used for new parts of the program. In this way leisure areas are projected, containing always the scale of the building and are presented as a sort of aggregation of small parts, which draws courtyards and narrows areas, as the traditional Mediterranean architecture does.

The interior respects the intermediate levels system producing a large spatial heterogeneity in rooms with a wide variety of sizes and heights. The supporting structure of the original house is housed inside the furniture that has the same gray shade as the trunks of some of the species that inhabit the garden.

The house is woven both among the trees and among the good memories that live in this pine forest.

In 2017 Fran Silvestre repeated his much lauded and elegant approach. With the House between the pine forest constructed in Paterna (Valencia), the BLAU outdoor furniture collection is once again utilised to reinforce Fran’s purist architectural style that through its various volumes and zones respects the different periods over which the family residence was built and the different generations that lived there. Without abandoning its core character the half levels and the BLAU furniture together with the sculptural lamps in the form of a tree complete the outdoor spaces around the house.

Brand description
The company GANDIA BLASCO was born in Ontinyent (Valencia) in 1941. It started with the production and manufacture of blankets, an activity that continued for 40 years with considerable success. With the arrival of Jose A. Gandia-Blasco to the company, the activity began to diversify. In the early 1990s, the company started the production of other textile products, such as carpets and bedspreads. With the help of Marisa Gallen and Sandra Figuerola, designers, the image of the make was reshaped and the first products with a strong design component were launched. During the years to follow, the brand settled in the textile market due to the exclusiveness and innovation of the products. The success of the carpets was followed by the commercialisation of sheets, duvet covers, bedspreads, cushions, etc. In 1996, GANDIA BLASCO launched the first outdoor furniture collection, designed by the architect Ramon Esteve with the participation of Jose A. Gandia-Blasco himself. It is the collection 'Na Xemena', which continues to be the icon of the company. The gap in the outdoor furniture market eventually took the company to focues their central activity on this branch. In 1999, as the company became the property of Jose A. Gandai-Blasco, the hierarchy of the firm was completely restructured. Though keeping the textile section, the garden and terrace furniture collections became the heart of the products. GANDIA BLASCO eriches the variety and style of the products with the diverse languages of the designers working with them. Both the textile line, which is being commercialised since 2008 with the brand name GAN, and the outdoor furnitures collections, are signed by prestigous professional deisgners, such as Jean Marie Massaud, Patricia Urquiola, Marie Mees, Marisa Gallen, Sandra Figuerola, Ramon Esteve, Odosdesign, Frances Rife, etc. The company is currently represented in nearly 75 countries, by means of distribution lines or with own shops and showrooms in New York, Milan, Istanbul or Madrid, and many other cities.
