Storage hall and offices Storage hall
Offices on two levels - cafeteria & conference rooms
A single metal volume houses two very distinct units: the hall and the offices. The project was born from the desire to bring together in a single volume, both simple and expressive, these two programs of the IED company, which are a priori contradictory. Under its unitary external appearance, the volume is organized inside in two distinct parts, as well by their functions as by the materials, between which takes place a generous staircase of 1.6 m of width under which are arranged the spaces of services.
The storage hall is housed under a conventional metal frame. The eastern part, in raw concrete, houses offices oriented on the rails, as well as the cafeteria and a reception area. It is therefore the entrance airlock and the staircase which play the central role of associating and distributing with a single impulse these two parts with very different atmospheres. The space, from the entrance, is bathed in generous light from a horizontal strip located high up. As in a street in a medieval village, windows bring the two interior facades of the building into dialogue and provide views in all its depth.
