"IT'S A SIN" has been created and conceptualized for the MIAD (Madrid Inside Art & Design) event in Madrid in March 2024. A space with an installation designed to explore and visually represent the seven deadly sins. This idea encapsulates an experience that awakens reflections on the duality of human nature and the struggle between temptation and virtue. The space simulates a desecrated church where every sin comes to life in an immersive setting hidden behind a large bookcase with a secret passage.

The combination of all the materials that make it up, together with the home automation and environmental management and control systems, allow the space to be lived as an experience. A sensory journey, facing the magnificence of the desacralized church and the darkness of the 7 sins through a Via Crucis based on the different social networks Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn.

Each station, associated with a deadly sin, leads the public to reflect on how social networks enslave our routine. Guarded by works of art that mark the route, the stations are enriched with games, activities, colors, lighting and reflection. Among the artistic references, the tribute to the "Insult to Injury" series by the Chapman Brothers on Goya's "Disasters of War" stands out. Thanks to home automation and lighting, each sin becomes a different experience.

The furniture has been created for the occasion along with all the props that make up the installation. The 7 deadly sins, rooted in moral tradition, find echo in the contemporary challenges addressed by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Greed, anger, envy, laziness, gluttony, lust and arrogance, when overcome, can pave the way to a more sustainable and equitable world, aligning with the fundamental principles of the SDGs that seek to eradicate poverty, promote peace and protect our planet.

The project's commitment to sustainability was further demonstrated through a voluntary CO2 offset certificate issued by ClimateTrade, compensating 12 tCO2 through the Berlin Geothermal Project (MDL 0297), verified on blockchain.

The installation was completed by a live Butoh performance titled "Paisajes de los Pecados" (Landscapes of the Sins), performed by Nataliya Andru and Jonathan Martineau of BUTOSOFIA. The performance, designed and improvised around the chaos and rules of the 7 Deadly Sins, transformed the architectural space into a living, visceral experience where body, sin and architecture merged into a single act.
