The long-established machine manufacturer Kellenberger is consolidating its three locations—St. Gallen, Romanshorn, and Wittenbach—and is constructing a new industrial facility in Goldach, Canton of St. Gallen, at a cost of approximately CHF 65 million. The Tannäcker site offers ideal conditions for a new location where production, assembly, storage, and administration are merged into a single, logistically interconnected entity. The construction of the new factory represents a strong commitment to Eastern Switzerland as a business location. With Kellenberger’s relocation, significant added value is generated in Goldach; the industrial area is densified and connected to public transport through a new road and bus line.

The new building consists of a combination of industrial halls measuring approximately 150 × 100 m, with a total floor area of around 25,000 m². Production, scraping, and assembly form the core functions within the industrial sector. The five-storey front building accommodates administration and a multi-purpose hall. Additional functions—including spindle manufacturing, grinding, measuring, a training workshop, and a showroom—extend from the industrial hall into the front building. The objective is to improve production processes. The modernization and adaptation of the manufacturing environment and assembly processes result not only in increased capacity but also in significant gains in efficiency.
