Knight Frank's Melbourne workplace needed an arrival experience that matched the quality of the brand. The existing office functioned well operationally, but the entry felt enclosed and disconnected from the energy of the business, presenting an opportunity to bring more light, warmth and connection into the space.
Working with interior designers KT Designs, the brief extended beyond a refresh to a rethink of how the workplace is experienced, from arrival through to the collaboration spaces beyond. Warm materials, considered detailing and integrated technology combine to create a space that is professional, welcoming and distinctly Knight Frank.
The arrival sequence anchors the fitout. Natural light, warm timber finishes and integrated planting shape a welcoming first impression. Throughout the space, feature timber ceilings, herringbone flooring and a layered material palette add texture and depth, balancing client-facing areas with calmer settings for day-to-day work.
The project was delivered within a complex CBD building, with access restrictions, delivery logistics and neighbouring tenants all factored into the construction sequence. Close coordination between project stakeholders kept the design intent intact through to completion, with craftsmanship evident across every space.
Technology is integrated rather than added on. A consistent platform across all meeting spaces lets staff move between rooms without friction, with flexible presentation capability supporting everything from daily meetings to client events and larger gatherings.
The workplace now functions as an extension of the client experience — from first meetings to boardroom presentations, the space supports the interaction rather than just sitting in the background.
Built-in flexibility lets the space adapt through the day, from focused individual work to team collaboration, presentations and client events. With technology working quietly in the background, the office fitout removes friction from everyday use and keeps the focus on the relationships the business is built on.
