Korn Ferry is an international company based in Barcelona. The project consists of the restoration of a 300m2 modernist flat in calle Rambla Cataluña, located in the heart of Barcelona’s Ensanche district. The state in which the property was found maintained a few original details but had suffered an important adaptation.
The design aims to highlight the Modernist style of the origins of the property by using a contemporary and functional approach. For this reason, the ceiling of the corridor was restored maintaining the rosettes characteristic of this type of housing. In the rest of the spaces, we designed mouldings that refer us to the original state.
To reinforce this lost identity, a carpet is designed with a print that refers to the drawing of the hydraulic floors. As in the case of the hydraulic mosaic, different patterns were designed in shades of grey garnets and sand, according to the type of space in which they are applied. The furniture consists of a combination of minimalist furniture with custom-designed natural oak furniture.
